Children of Character 1
Bill and Mardy Freeman
Children of Character I is a book about building character in the home. Topics include winning our children's hearts, getting to the root of a problem, praising character over performance, teaching children to live for a higher purpose than themselves, limiting the influences of our culture and understanding the dynamics of personality and spiritual gifts in our children.
We hope (and pray) for each one who reads this book, that you will be encouraged as you seek to build character in your children. Please do not be tempted to compare yourself or your children to us, or to anyone else! We have learned mostly in tiny baby steps (sometimes one forward, then several backward until we stumble), and it has taken many years of trials and errors, tears and sorrows, mistakes and humbling failures. Many families are much “farther along” than we are. We try to not compare their successes with our failures. None of us are more important than another; only the truths that we have learned are important. When we cry out to the Lord for help, and apply the truths He reveals, we reap good fruit; when we forget or revert back to our old ways, we see the same type of conflicts and struggles as before. Let us each compare our selves only to Christ – and cry out to God for His mercy and grace for help in time of need.

Children of Character 2 picks up where Children of Character 1 left off with more personal stories, practical advice and gentle encouragement for parents. Topics include how to protect children when they are weak, ways to help bring them to maturity, winning a teen’s heart, helping teens to hear the Lord's voice, releasing them into service, and discerning right teachings for our family.
Whether your relationship with your children is good or in need of a helping hand, there is something to hearten and inspire in these pages. This book is designed to strengthen families with young children, teens and even adult children.

Endorsements
Children of Character 2 braves the deepest and broader challenges of family from early childhood to adulthood. It fills the chinks overlooked by many authors, from “Protecting the Weak” to equipping the minds, hands and hearts of moms and dads with secrets of great character, of truly fulfilled families. It seems fit as if the hand of God has taken hold of the hands of Bill and Mardy and guided as only He can do. Dr. Raymond Moore, The Moore Foundation
